The RIDCC Awards
RIDCC offers its contestants more visibility and an extensive network. The winner of the XL Production Award will enjoy a major career boost: with a production budget of €100,000 the winner will be given the opportunity to make a new production at the production company of Theater Rotterdam. Last year this main award was won by Danae Dimitriadi & Dionysios Alamanos from Greece. Their new choreography Free At Last will premiere at Theater Rotterdam on June 6, 2019 during the Danceweek.
Apart from the main award, the XL Production Award, there are six other prizes. Six partner institutions provide the contestants with a wonderful opportunity to work on a project at their dance company. These partner institutions are: Codarts Rotterdam, Conny Janssen Danst, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Club Guy en Roni, Maas Theater & Dans and Dansateliers. These partners are convinced of the need to create more opportunities for choreographers and they are keen to play a proactive and practical role in this.
A new award this year is the Audience Award. The audience is allowed to vote and select its own favourite during the final in Theater Rotterdam on 29 June 2019.
