Sixteen choreographers from thirteen countries spread over three continents. Meet the RIDCC contestants of 2018.
The selection of contestants for the first edition of Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (RIDCC) came from thirteen countries spread over three continents. RIDCC is the first and only dance competition that focuses exclusively on duets. The competition took place on 21, 22 and 23 June 2018 in Rotterdam. The first prize was a production budget of €100,000 and is the largest dance prize of its kind in the world.
Selection for preliminary rounds
Out of the 320 entries, the professional jury selected sixteen contestants for the competition. RIDCC founders Mischa van Leeuwen and Maya Roest about the selection process: “Viewing all the entries was quite a job, but we really enjoyed doing it. There are many unknown choreographers in the selection, so hopefully this competition will help them take the next step in their career. We look forward to seeing these dances live on stage.”

The preliminary rounds took place on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 June, the final was held on Saturday 23 June 2018!
